Apo Island revisited

Apo Island is known as one of the best dive sites in the Philippines. It’s also famous for being a successful marine protected area (MPA) and is studied by many scientist from all over the world. Unfortunately the island got hit by two big storms, Sendong in 2011 and Pablo in 2012. The once untouched reefs suffered a lot and now about half of the reefs are damaged. The local community is looking for ways to speed up recovery of the corals and not loose tourism. Luckily there is still plenty of healthy reefs around and turtles still feel at home here.
