Fishermen Jonel Meranar tells his recovery story after Typhoon Haiyan


Fishermen Jonel Meranar from Concepcion, Philippines lost almost everything during Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). His house and boat vanished with the typhoon but thanks to Concern Worldwide he managed to rebuild his house and livelihood. Soon after the typhoon's devastation Jonel was offered a job in Concern's boatyard to build boats for fishermen just like him who had lost everything. Not only did he learn new carpentry skills, he also received a new fishing boat. Jonel and his family are now slowly recovering and have newfound hope to improve their lives.
